The Comet Red Handflare MK8 conforms to SOLAS 74 (as amended) and is designed to withstand exceptional environmental exposure, performing reliably even after full immersion in water. Featuring a telescopic handle with improved grip, this handflare is exceptionally compact for stowage aboard lifeboats, life rafts, and all categories of SOLAS compliant vessel.
The Comet Red Handflare MK8 is a high-performance SOLAS-approved pyrotechnic distress signal engineered for reliable emergency use in the most demanding marine environments. Producing a powerful hot red flame at 15,000 candela for a continuous 60-second burn, this handflare provides maximum visual range and signal intensity to attract the attention of rescue teams, aircraft, and nearby vessels during life-threatening emergencies at sea.
The telescopic handle design delivers a secure, improved grip during activation and use, while keeping the overall unit compact and easy to stow in capsize containers, flare kits, and lifeboat equipment lockers.
